[Fife, WA] - Pick-Quick Burgers

Thought I would take a moment to post this up from my last trip up to Seattle (around Christmas time 2016). Not sure if anyone else knows about this place, but Pick-Quick is one of my favorite places to grab a burger in the PNW. It's old school - been around since the 1949! - the menus and location look like it's still the same as it was when it opened. It's located in Fife, somewhere most Eastsiders don't make it out to. Luckily for me, my dad worked out in that vicinity and knew about this and shared it with the rest of us. 

 The burgers are on the smaller side. If you are looking for Carls Jr., this is not the place for you. These are burgers the way they were always made and I appreciate it. Simple menu, simple food, all done well. They also serve some of the best shakes around!

 Be sure to check if they're open before heading over since they close during the winter!

If you are a milk tea fan, this is a must go spot. It's one of the oldest tea milk tea shops in Southern Taiwan, and from the looks of it, do everything the same as they always have. [Kaohsiung, Taiwan] - 查理布朗咖啡店 | Charlie Brown Café Taiwan

I have been a huge fan of Snoopy for as long as I can remember (which is a long, long time). Having already been to one of the Charlie Brown Cafes in Hong Kong, I figured why not also go to the one in Kaohsiung? If you want to go, it's pretty easy. Kaohsiung has an MRT system like the one in Taipei. Take the red line to the Hanshin Arena KMRT stop and walk up Baoi Road 2nd to Baoi Road 3rd. You should see the Hanshin department store on the left. Just walk a few blocks and you'll see the Charlie Brown Cafe on the left side of the road (same side as the department store) with the cross street of Zhizhen Road. It's pretty hard to miss! If you're lucky, it's not too busy and Snoopy is available to join you for some afternoon coffee, tea, sparkly drinks, and/or snacks. [Daly City, CA] - Noodle in a Haystack

Noodle in a Haystack is a ramen pop-up that I have been following for about a year now. Through following them, I learned that they had been working on their yuzu shio ramen for a few years now, and that they started making their own ramen because the local selection wasn't great , especially after having gotten used to the ramen in Japan (I was pretty excited to know that I wasn't alone in this assessment, or that others have suffered from culture shock moving back to the States!). Before I went to Japan and had real  ramen, I wasn't that picky. After having Ichiran and a few other random places, I just wasn't able to eat ramen anywhere. Santouka became the only place that I would go to, but their ramen is only tonkotsu. I personally prefer miso ramen, so the tonkotsu is too heavy for me to enjoy frequently.
