[Snoqualmie, WA] - The Salish Lodge Dining Room
Over the past weekend, I watched Twin Peaks . I was too young when it came out to watch, enjoy, or understand anything in it, so it was about time. My dad told me at some point that there was a show filmed in North Bend. We were sitting at a booth in Twede's Cafe when he mentioned it. Drinking coffee ("you know, this is--excuse me--a damn fine cup of coffee") and eating pie ("mmm, this must be where pies go when they die"). It was the only time we stopped there on our way to Snoqualmie, but the memory stayed with me. We used to go to Snoqualmie every time we had guests. It was part of THE TOUR. THE TOUR consisted of all of the things to see and do in the greater Seattle area. And because it was THE TOUR and not WHAT THE KIDS WANT TO DO, we (my brother and I) would dutifully follow along and see what there was to see, and eat what everyone else wanted to eat.
