[Tokyo, Japan] - The Capcom Bar

I apologize ahead of time for not having more details. I went here over two years ago, and I didn't think to take notes (sorry, busy having fun!--but not too busy to take pictures to document it visually).

The Capcom Bar is in a busy area and isn't too far from an Ichiran Ramen. What ended up happening was ramen first (Link here for my review), then walking over for some Capcom action. We figured it would just be drinks at the bar, so eating first seemed like a good idea. In case you don't eat first like we did, they do serve food. It's just ok food. Honestly, these theme cafes are more for the themes and seeing how it plays out rather than high quality/taste of the food. I was under no illusion that it would be the best meal of my life.

That said, be sure to arrive early on the weekend. We went during the week so it wasn't crazy, but after checking in at the front desk, it got pretty crowded. It's not the kind of bar where you just walk in and have a drink and leave. You have to show up, get a numbered ticket, and wait for your group/wave to get called. Everyone in that wave gets to sit there for 90 minutes and enjoy the food and drinks before they clean everything up and bring in the next group.

Once inside, you are welcome to take your time looking over the menu. There are a ton of drinks to pick from. They are all in Japanese (unless they've changed it since then), so having a basic knowledge of katakana and hiragana helps, but doesn't solve the literacy problem completely. It was hard to know where to start. I wanted an alcoholic beverage, but really liked the way the Ebony and Ivory drink looked, so I started out with a soda.

We enjoyed our drinks slowly, took some time to walk around and see all of the cool Capcom paraphernalia, ordered more drinks, and played some video games in between. We didn't stay for the entire 90 minutes because the drinks were just ok and we felt we got a pretty good taste of the experience. And, the longer we stayed, the more we spent on drinks we didn't really want anymore.

If you're a Capcom fan, give it a go. It's a cool little spot. At the time they didn't have any Rockman themed items, but based on the website, it looks like he's finally made it as blue drinks.

Ebony and Ivory - ice in the shape of his signature guns in coke and sprite flavors on strawberry soda (no alcohol) ¥ 730

A Monster Hunter themed drink - I wish I could read Japanese because I have no idea what was in it. All I know is that there was no alcohol and it was a sweet drink ¥ 680

Tigrex drink from Monster Hunter (contains alcohol) - ¥ 750

Don't forget to mix the vial in with the rest of the drink! Frenzy mode!

I'm not the biggest fan of matcha; I got this primarily for the coaster. I still have it! ¥ 680

This Okami based drink had alcohol (couldn't taste it). It tasted fizzy and light with some sakura. Based on the sake deity from the game. You know, the cute one with sake barrels on her head? Yeah, she is pretty cool. ¥ 750

I didn't know about Phoenix Wright before the Capcom Bar. It was cool though. Afternoon snack and drinks with a show.

He objected to these onion rings. ¥ 680

Games! Grab a controller and play your heart out.

The bar. You really can't come here to get a buzz. It's all about how it looks and the Capcom theme!

The decor was, of course, all Capcom stuff.
